Sequoia dakotensis is a genus of sequoia trees belonging to the cypress family. There is only one surviving member of the genus Sequoia, which is named Sequoia sempervirens, known as Califronia redwood. Sequoia dakotensis may have been simillar to the giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum). Just like Sequoia sempervirens, the Sequoia dakotensis may have been the tallest tree in its environment. Sequoia have very little nutritional value, meaning its probably rare in a diet of any Hell Creek herbivore.
