Palaeobatrachus is an extinct species of frog that lived from the Paleocene to the Middle Pleistocene of Europe, although remains of this amphibian suggest it's presence in the Late Cretaceous Hell Creek. It lived in swamps, sustaining itself on insects, crustaceans, fish and other small aquatic animals. It measured around 8 to 10 centimeters (3.1 to 3.9 inches). It possessed bag-shaped lungs for fluctuation, making Palaeobatrachus resembling the African clawed frog, which is a distant relative.

In SaurianEdit

Palaeobatrachus has been revealed in the Saurian artbook, although it's presence in the game remains unknown. The artbook mentions that Palaeobatrachus is too small from a dinosaur perspective, given the fact it hides in burrows, however their sounds reveal their presence in Hell Creek. This seems to suggest that the animal won't be physically present in the game, but it's vocalizations can be heard, specially at night, by the player.

Trivia Edit

  • Palaeobatrachus, in reality, was absent in the Hell Creek Formation, however the formation itself also provides fossils from other frog genus, like Scotiophryne or Eopelobates.
